Naturally I am biased as I love the sport! When I started out competing in these events, there were a few things that got me hooked:

1) The 3 Disciplines

The 3 different disciplines meant being able to have variety in the training. Yes there are things to get your head around for each discipline which you may not have done for a number of years, but like anything, practice makes perfect!

2) The Camaraderie

The camaraderie of the sport is nothing short of fantastic - there's something very special about being amongst like-minded people all doing the same event, and it's hard not to feed off (and be motivated by) everyone else's energy.

3) The Reward

It is an amazing feeling to cross that line knowing all the hard work paid off. I challenge anyone to say there is a better feeling when you achieve something that you have worked hard for and that is maybe outside your comfort zone. It is another level of euphoria!

“The important thing to realise is that what works for you, won't work for me and vice versa - you can ask the same question to 10 different people, and get 10 different answers.”
